Zhanibek Alimkhanuly has claimed a new status for himself.

The world champion in boxing under the WBO and IBF versions in the middleweight category, Kazakhstan's Janibek Alimkhanuly, has announced his new status in the sports world, reports Caravan.kz.

The renowned athlete noted that so far, no titled opponents have offered him a fight contract. As a result, he feels entitled to refer to himself differently.

“Carlos hasn’t sent me a contract, and Shiraz is silent. What does that mean? It means that I… am the nightmare of the middleweight division,” Janibek Alimkhanuly wrote on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

Recall that Alimkhanuly is attempting to negotiate a bout with the WBC world champion, Dominican Carlos Adames, personally through social media, but when it comes to concrete negotiations involving promoters, there has been a lull. As for the mandatory challenger under the WBO, British fighter Hamza Shiraz, the promoters have not managed to agree on organizing their meeting, leading the WBO to schedule a promotional bidding.
