Yulia Putintseva has advanced to the second round of the WTA 1000 tournament in Doha.

The 20th-ranked player in the world, Kazakhstan's tennis player Yulia Putintseva, has advanced to the second round of the WTA-1000 tournament in Doha, Qatar, reports Sputnik Kazakhstan.

In her opening match, she faced a challenging contest against Japan’s Moyuka Uchijima (ranked 63rd), winning with scores of 6:2, 6:7 (5:7), 6:3.

The match lasted for 2 hours and 30 minutes. During this time, Putintseva delivered two aces, committed two double faults, and converted 8 break points out of 14 earned. Uchijima recorded two aces, did not have any double faults, and successfully converted four out of seven break points.

In the second round of the tournament in Doha, Yulia Putintseva will face Czech player Linda Noskova.
