Yulia Putintseva has advanced to the quarterfinals in Adelaide.

The 25th-ranked player in the world, Kazakhstani tennis player Yulia Putintseva, defeated Ons Jabeur (ranked 40th globally) from Tunisia in the second round of the WTA-500 hard court tournament in Adelaide, reports Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The match ended with a score of 6:2, 6:4 in favor of the Kazakh player.

The contest lasted 1 hour and 22 minutes. Putintseva recorded two aces, committed the same number of double faults, and converted 4 out of 11 break points. Her opponent had three aces, one double fault, and successfully converted one break point out of five.

In the quarterfinals of the Adelaide tournament, Putintseva will face 13th-ranked Russian tennis player Diana Schneider.
