The former Russian player representing Kazakhstan, Alexander Bublik, shared which country feels closer to him, as reported by Caravan.kz.
Bublik, along with his family, is currently torn between three countries: he was born and became a tennis player in Russia, competes for Kazakhstan, and resides in Monaco. In an interview with "Match TV," the athlete outlined his priorities regarding these nations in terms of personal plans.
“Monaco looks stunning in pictures and movies, with all the cars and so on—that’s one thing. But living there is another… Regardless, I am a Russian person, even though I compete for Kazakhstan and take pride in that. Astana has helped me a lot, but I am Russian at heart, and I feel drawn to St. Petersburg and its people. I have a deep love for our people and hold them dear. I probably will never be able to live without this city. Monaco is great, fantastic, and it’s my home now. I spend more time there than in St. Petersburg, but I can’t see myself living there (after my career). Of course, I will visit, as my child was born in Monaco, and perhaps I will have a second and third child there. As long as I’m playing, I will live there; it’s convenient logistically, and there’s a good training base. Everything is designed for sports. It’s a small town that has everything a sportsman's daily life requires. I will continue to visit; I love this place, and it holds many good memories for me. But I won’t be ‘living life’ there,” said Alexander Bublik.
Previously, Alexander Bublik apologized to the people of Kazakhstan for his disappointing performance at the Summer Olympics in Paris.
