The chairman of the supervisory board of FC "Kairat," Kairat Boranbaev, shared in an interview with the YouTube channel Qsport about where the team might hold its home matches during the planned reconstruction of the Central Stadium in Almaty, as reported by Sports.kz.
— It was mentioned that the Central Stadium will undergo reconstruction in 2026. Will "Kairat" remain in Almaty? Many are saying, "Give the stadium back to the club!" Let it be in private hands, as they say, and changes will come... We know that the Central Stadium has become the main venue — all matches are held there. — We have a queue for where to play at home. We have two certified fields — the Pehlivanidi Academy and the Segizbaev Academy. So, we definitely know where we will play if the stadium closes for reconstruction. This is probably more of a question for the city administration. The fact that they want to undertake the reconstruction is a very good signal for us and for the fans. I believe this place is already well-loved. It’s convenient, and everyone knows it. Therefore, we only support it. But we have no connection to the stadium.
