Uzbekistan topped the medal standings at the 2024 Men's Boxing Championship.

The men's boxing team of Uzbekistan secured first place in the overall medal count at the Asian Championship, which concluded in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Following the results of the Asian Championships 2024, Uzbek boxers secured a total of 11 medals (eight gold, two silver, and one bronze), reports Zakon.kz.

In second place were the representatives of the Kazakhstan team, who claimed 10 awards: four gold, five silver, and one bronze.

The top three were rounded out by athletes from Tajikistan, who achieved one gold, one silver, and three bronze medals.

The 2024 Asian boxing champions from Kazakhstan included: Mahmud Sabyrkhan (54 kg), Bekzad Nurdauletev (86 kg), Sagyndyk Togambay (92 kg), and Aibek Oralbay (+92 kg).

Second place in the continental championship went to Sanjar Tashkenbay (48 kg), Orazbek Asylkulov (57 kg), Dulat Bekbauev (67 kg), Abilaykhan Zhusupov (71 kg), and Dias Molzhigitov (75 kg).

With a bronze medal from the Thai tournament, Yerasyl Jakpekov (80 kg) is returning home.

While our men's team fell short in the team standings, the women's team from Kazakhstan excelled at the Asian Championships 2024 in Thailand, winning five top medals and five bronze awards.
