The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan announced that MMA will be funded through private sources.

Kazakhstan's Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov shared his views on the funding of mixed martial arts (MMA) in the country and the role of the state budget in this process.
Премьер-министр Казахстана сообщил, что финансирование ММА будет осуществляться за счет частных инвестиций.

In response to the request from the Mazhilis deputies, he stated that the development of MMA in Kazakhstan has been carried out since 2013 by the accredited United Federation of Mixed Martial Arts of Kazakhstan (MMA Federation), and since 2019, "Professional MMA" has officially been included in the list of sports, as reported by Meta-ratings.kz.

Currently, within the framework of the draft law under consideration by the Mazhilis of Parliament as part of the directive from the head of state, there are plans to reduce the volume of sports funded by the state budget. The funding from the national budget will be allocated only for national sports programs, as well as for the Olympic, Paralympic, Deaflympic, Asian, and Para-Asian Games, and for high-performance sports. Based on the above, the development of MMA will continue to be handled directly by the MMA Federation, — Bektenov explained.

According to Bektenov, there are currently four major international clubs specializing in MMA operating in the country: "Alash Pride," "OCTAGON PROMOTION," "Naiza Fighting Championship," and "Erkin Kush." These clubs are separate legal entities and receive funding from private sources.

It is noteworthy that there are currently 592 MMA sections in Kazakhstan, with more than 23,000 participants under the guidance of 193 coaches. Accredited federations operate in various regions of the country, along with 13 specialized MMA divisions in sports schools, such as those in Abai, Atyrau, and other regions, as well as in Shymkent.
