Elena Rybakina begins her campaign from the second round with a match against Japanese tennis player Moyuki Uchijima (No. 62), reports Vesti.kz.
In the first-round match, Uchijima sensationally defeated Latvian tennis player Elena Ostapenko (No. 26) with a score of 6:3, 6:3.
The match lasted one hour and 27 minutes.
The hard court tournament in the UAE started on February 16 and will continue until February 22. The prize pool for the competition exceeds 3.6 million dollars.
Another Kazakh player, Yulia Putintseva (No. 23), participated in this tournament in the first round, losing to Czech tennis player Linda Noskova (No. 35) — 6:2, 7:6.
