Nurgisa Adletuly (96 kg) has become the world champion in weightlifting in Manama (Bahrain), as reported by BaigeNews.kz.
The athlete had not competed on the international stage for nearly 1.5 years.
In the total lift, Nurgisa managed to lift 388 kilograms (174+214). This result was sufficient to secure first place at the World Championship.
Finishing second was Revaz Davitadze (Georgia) with a total of 387 kilograms (177+210). Rounding out the top three was Iranian Ali Alipur with 387 kilograms (173+214).
