The Polish tennis player and former world number one, Iga Swiatek, triumphed over her opponent from Kazakhstan, Elena Rybakina, in the quarterfinals of the WTA-1000 tournament in Doha (Qatar). The final score was 6:2, 7:5 in favor of Swiatek, reports Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The match between Rybakina and Swiatek lasted 1 hour and 36 minutes. During this time, Swiatek managed to hit one ace and convert three out of eight break points. She also committed one double fault. Rybakina converted one break point out of four, hit three aces, and also made one double fault.
In the next round of the tournament, Iga Swiatek will face the winner of the match between Ons Jabeur (Tunisia) and Jelena Ostapenko (Latvia).
The tournament in Doha is taking place from February 9 to 15. Iga Swiatek is competing as the defending champion.
