Figure skater Samodelkina is set to compete in two major events at the beginning of 2025.

The roster of Kazakhstan's figure skating team for the upcoming major international competitions has been announced, reports Caravan.kz.

The leader of the women's team, Sofia Samodelkina, who has been representing Kazakhstan since the summer of 2024, will compete in both the Winter Universiade and the Winter Asian Games, which are scheduled for January and February, respectively.

At the Universiade, taking place from January 13 to 23 in Turin, Italy, Samodelkina will be the sole representative of Kazakhstan in women's singles skating. However, at the Asian Games, set for February 7-14 in Harbin, she will be joined by Sofia Farafonova in the singles event, with Anna Levkovets designated as the alternate.

It is worth noting that at the Winter Universiade 2025, Kazakhstan will also be represented by men's singles skaters Mikhail Shaidorov, Dias Zhirenbaev, and Nikita Krivosheev. For the Asian Games, the men's singles team includes Mikhail Shaidorov and Dias Zhirenbaev (with Rakhат Bralin as the alternate), while in ice dance, the pair of Gauhar Nauryzova and Baisangur Datiev will compete.
