Kazakhstan's top-ranked player, Elena Rybakina, was unable to reach the final of the WTA 1000 tournament in Dubai, reports Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The Kazakhstani player lost in a thrilling semifinal match to the 14th-ranked player in the world, Russia's Mira Andreyeva, with a score of 4:6, 6:4, 3:6.
Rybakina is now heading to a series of tournaments in the United States. In March, two two-week women's WTA 1000 Masters events will take place in Indian Wells and Miami. Last year in Miami, Elena reached the final, where she lost to American Danielle Collins.
