Former Minister of Tourism and Sports of Kazakhstan, Yerbek Marzhikpaev, commented on rumors regarding his candidacy for the position of President of the Kazakhstan Football Federation, reports Caravan.kz.
Marzhikpaev, who currently serves as an advisor to the Prime Minister, stated that he has no intention of holding any position within the football federation.
“Let me clarify the situation regarding the consideration of my candidacy for the position of President of the Football Federation of Kazakhstan. I do not plan to run for this position. However, like many of my compatriots, I will always be a devoted fan of the world’s #1 sport. I am confident that our football will achieve great victories in the future,” noted Yerbek Marzhikpaev.
On November 8, Adlet Barmenkulov announced his resignation from the position of President of the Football Federation. The date for the extraordinary conference of the KFF, where a new head of the federation will be elected, will be announced later.
