Kazakh boxer Ali Akhmedov, competing in the super middleweight division, will be fighting for a title in Astana, as reported by Caravan.kz.
It has been officially announced that the bout between Akhmedov and Polish fighter Maciej Sulecki will be for the WBC Silver championship belt in the super middleweight category. The fight is scheduled for February 28 in Astana.
Previously, Sulecki fought in the middleweight division and faced opponents such as Demetrius Andrade, Gabriel Rosado, and Daniel Jacobs. His most notable fight was for the WBO world championship title against Andrade in 2019.
Ali Akhmedov trains under Ricky Funez, and the boxer's affairs are managed by GG Promotions, owned by former world champion Gennady Golovkin.
It was also reported earlier that WBO and IBF middleweight champion Janibek Alimkhanuly plans to have his next fight in Astana.
