Asu Almbayev has received a challenge from a Top 15 UFC opponent.

Kazakhstani UFC flyweight fighter Asu Almaev has received a challenge from American Charles Johnson, who is ranked in the Top 15, reports Caravan.kz.

Currently, Charles Johnson, with a record of 17 wins and 6 losses in MMA, is ranked 13th in the flyweight category, while Asu Almaev (21 wins and 2 losses in MMA) holds the 7th position in the division. The fact that the Kazakh fighter is ranked higher did not deter the American, as he intends to face Almaev.

“Asu Almaev, [Alex] Perez, [Steve] Erceg, or anyone from the top 10,” — Charles Johnson wrote on platform X (formerly Twitter) when asked about his desired opponents for upcoming fights.

It is worth noting that in February of this year, Charles Johnson suffered a unanimous decision loss to another fighter from Kazakhstan, Azat Maksum (15-1).
