The WBO and IBF middleweight boxing champion from Kazakhstan, Janibek Alimkhanuly, made a statement regarding his situation and the possibility of fighting the renowned Mexican Saul "Canelo" Alvarez in a heavier weight class, as reported by Caravan.kz.

At a press conference in Astana, Alimkhanuly expressed his determination to secure the two remaining middleweight titles and then move up to a heavier weight category.

“God willing, after claiming four titles in my division, I will transition to Canelo's weight and we will have a fight. Whether it’s in Kazakhstan or not doesn’t matter; the important thing is that it happens. I will be ready to move to 168 pounds. We are prepared to face Canelo. I believe we can also have a great fight with Benavidez,” said Janibek Alimkhanuly.

The world champion also mentioned that he shares similarities with his famous compatriot, former world champion Gennady Golovkin, in that other world champions are hesitant to face him in the ring.

“Yes, the situation is similar. In reality, a boxer never fears another boxer. I think they are afraid of our style,” said Janibek Alimkhanuly.
