The holder of the world championship belts in two versions — WBO and IBF in the middleweight category, boxer from Kazakhstan Janibek Alimkhanuly is set to return to the ring soon, reports Caravan.kz.
Information about Alimkhanuly's first fight in 2025 was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by the Brunch Boxing account. The source indicated that Janibek (16-0, 11 KOs) will make his comeback in March to headline a major Top Rank event on ESPN. However, the name of his opponent has not yet been revealed.
It is worth noting that in 2024, Alimkhanuly only fought once — securing an impressive knockout victory over New Zealander Andrey Mikhailovich. The main issue facing Alimkhanuly is the refusal of WBC and WBA champions to engage in an unification bout with him.
