Alimkhanuly laughed at the BoxRec rankings.

The holder of the world championship titles in middleweight boxing from the WBO and IBF, Kazakhstan's Janibek Alimkhanuly, expressed his surprise at his position in the new BoxRec rankings, as reported by Caravan.kz.

Despite holding 2 out of the 4 major championship titles, BoxRec has placed Alimkhanuly in third place. At the top of the BoxRec list is the long inactive WBA world champion, Cuban Erislandy Lara, followed by British boxer Hamza Shiraz, who is not yet a world champion. The WBC champion, Dominican Carlos Adames, is ranked fifth.

“What is this?” Alimkhanuly wrote on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), adding a laughing emoji.

As a reminder, Janibek Alimkhanuly fought his last match in October, where he knocked out New Zealand boxer Andrei Mikhailovich (21-1, 13 KOs) in the ninth round. In December, he held negotiations with the bosses of world professional boxing regarding a unification bout.
