Barmenkulov became the president of the KFF in February 2022. The federation noted that this marked the beginning of an unprecedented period of growth and progress for Kazakh football.
An achievement for the entire country was the historic victory of the Kazakhstan national team in Division C of the UEFA Nations League in 2022. In 2023, the team inspired millions of Kazakhstani fans by earning a record 18 points in the Euro 2024 qualifying tournament, coming just a step away from the final stage.
In partnership with FIFA, a national football academy for young talents under 15 was established in 2024, which will serve as a breeding ground for future stars.
