Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the uniqueness of the Organization, highly appreciating its vast potential in political, economic, and cultural spheres of interaction. According to him, special attention is given to issues of regional and global security.
The head of state underscored the importance of further improving the Organization's activities, enhancing connections with international associations, and promoting Kazakhstan's initiative within the SCO "For World Unity for a Just World, Concord, and Development."
In accordance with the decision of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, as of January 1, 2025, Nurlan Ermekbaev has assumed the position of Secretary-General of the SCO.
Previously, Tokayev expressed his views on relations with the leaders of major world powers.
