As reported by Akorda, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed his pleasure at meeting with the President of the Republic of Turkey in Baku. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between the two countries.
"Our fraternal relations are developing dynamically, a constructive dialogue has been established at the political level, and interaction between the governments of the two countries is strengthening. Turkey is one of the five largest trading partners of Kazakhstan. Last year, the trade turnover reached 6 billion dollars," he emphasized.
According to the head of state, Turkey is among the leading investors, having invested significant funds into Kazakhstan's economy. He also stated that the investment projects involving Turkish entrepreneurs are under his personal supervision.
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan noted that the relations between Kazakhstan and Turkey have taken on a strategic nature. He pointed out the great potential for further activation of trade and economic cooperation.
"I am confident that during the 5th meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, scheduled for next year in Ankara, we will sign important agreements in agriculture, defense, energy, transport and logistics, as well as in the cultural and humanitarian sphere. We will continue our efforts to increase bilateral trade turnover to 15 billion dollars," said the President of Turkey.
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emphasized that Turkish companies are successfully operating in various sectors of Kazakhstan's economy. According to him, Turkish businessmen are ready to share their experience in modernizing the agricultural sector, building nuclear power plants, and transporting oil and gas.
Additionally, the heads of state exchanged views on current issues of the international and regional agenda and agreed to provide mutual support within multilateral frameworks.
It was previously reported that Tokayev held brief meetings with the heads of delegations on the sidelines of the World Climate Summit COP29 on November 12.
