According to Tokayev, Shoigu's visit holds significant importance for deepening cooperation between the countries, which is on an upward trajectory.
"The state visit of the President of Russia in November 2024 to Kazakhstan was of tremendous significance. It is crucial that economic interaction between our countries is also progressing successfully. We have reached agreements on 171 projects, with more than 50 projects already in the final stages of implementation. Russia is currently one of the main investors in the Kazakh economy. I believe that cooperation in the law enforcement and defense sectors of our states is also developing successfully. I consider your visit a great opportunity to review our collaboration and to discuss new areas of interaction between our countries." Kassym-Jomart Tokayev
Additionally, the head of Kazakhstan conveyed greetings to Vladimir Putin.

In turn, Shoigu expressed gratitude to Tokayev for the opportunity to meet and discuss the most pressing issues of regional security.
"The relationships that have developed between our fraternal peoples and our countries are continually maintained at a very high level. The volume of trade and our joint projects is impressive. Of course, our interaction is not limited to bilateral cooperation. We actively work within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, CSTO, CIS, and EAEU. Projects initiated, including by Kazakhstan, are successfully and actively developing." Sergey Shoigu

During the meeting, there was an exchange of views on enhancing the effectiveness of cooperation between the two states in the field of security.
