"Taking the opportunity, the head of our state invited the President of Vietnam, Lyong Kyong, to visit Kazakhstan next year and to combine his visit with participation in the Astana International Forum," the statement said.
During the conversation, the head of state noted that Kazakh-Vietnamese relations are currently developing positively. The president fondly recalled his official visit to Vietnam last year. The negotiations that took place during this visit gave a significant boost to bilateral cooperation.
The president identified Vietnam as a key partner for our country in Southeast Asia. According to him, Kazakhstan is ready to continue making efforts to comprehensively strengthen bilateral relations, particularly in trade, economic, investment, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also emphasized the importance of enhancing inter-parliamentary cooperation to exchange experiences in legislative support for the socio-economic development of both countries.
Nguyen Xuan Thanh noted that the Politburo of the Central Committee and the National Assembly of the country are actively working to implement the agreements reached at the highest level during the visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Vietnam.
In his opinion, the countries share similar views and successfully interact on multilateral platforms, including the UN and ASEAN.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev welcomed the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies and the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics. He emphasized that this document could provide a strong impetus for joint scientific research.
Earlier, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev appointed and relieved several ambassadors from their positions.
