Welcoming the head of Russia's foreign affairs ministry, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted the dynamic development of bilateral cooperation in the spirit of friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership.
"As emphasized, this is largely facilitated by the regular high-level political dialogue, as well as the coordinated efforts of the governments and parliaments of both countries," the statement published on Thursday in the Telegram channel of Akorda reads.
During the conversation, particular attention was given to preparations for the upcoming state visit of the President of Russia to Kazakhstan.
"We are seriously preparing for this visit. We believe it will be a significant event in our intergovernmental relations. Our relationship is exemplary and is developing dynamically. The upcoming visit will give additional momentum to our strategic partnership and alliance," said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
For his part, Sergey Lavrov assured that all key issues of the multifaceted cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan, including the agenda for the upcoming visit, are being thoroughly worked out at the level of the governments and foreign affairs ministries of both countries.
The Russian Foreign Minister expressed gratitude to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for organizing a scientific-practical conference in Astana dedicated to the 80th anniversary of MGIMO, which received wide resonance in diplomatic circles and the media.
The interlocutors discussed pressing issues on the regional and international agenda, including cooperation within multilateral structures and integration associations.
It was previously reported that the President of Russia will fly to Kazakhstan. Vladimir Putin's state visit is scheduled for November 27, 2024.
