As reported during the government meeting on February 11, 2025, by Minister of Agriculture Aydarbek Saparov, a crucial step remains to reduce dependence on wheat. Over the past two years, its cultivation area has decreased by nearly 730,000 hectares.
"Focusing on oilseeds and legumes, which are in high demand in the markets, with prices for flax and rapeseed reaching 200,000 tenge per ton. This will not only enhance the profitability of agribusiness but also improve the crop structure, ensuring sustainable agricultural development," said Aydarbek Saparov.
Furthermore, the implementation of the Roadmap for the diversification of sown areas will continue.
The program will cover approximately 1 million hectares with a focus on high-profit crops, including an increase in oilseed area by 365,000 hectares.
It was previously reported that Kazakhstan has increased grain exports and strengthened its position in foreign markets.
