According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, during the event, representatives of member states discussed the current geopolitical situation, as well as the challenges and threats facing the Islamic world, particularly in light of recent events in the Middle East.
"Global economic and political powers are increasingly struggling to work together to address geopolitical turbulence, economic uncertainty, and resolve pressing issues. Our country consistently advocates for the resolution of all armed conflicts exclusively through diplomatic means and dialogue. As President K. Tokayev emphasized, the pursuit of peace through constructive negotiations is not a sign of weakness, but a reflection of strategic wisdom and foresight," said Murat Nurtleu.
He emphasized that Kazakhstan is a staunch supporter of the "two states for two peoples" formula in accordance with relevant UN resolutions.
"The establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state with its capital in East Jerusalem is the only viable solution to ensure the legitimate rights of Palestinians to self-determination and statehood. Our country fully shares the opinion of the UN Secretary-General that 'the world cannot afford for Lebanon to become another Gaza,'" stated the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to him, middle powers like Kazakhstan are becoming key players today in bridging gaps and strengthening a multilateral approach to dispute resolution, protecting territorial integrity, and ensuring peace and stability.
"Kazakhstan adds its voice to those calling for an immediate ceasefire and unhindered delivery of critically needed aid to Palestinians. Astana is ready to contribute to all initiatives aimed at achieving lasting peace at both regional and global levels," concluded Murat Nurtleu.
It was previously reported that President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev spoke on November 12, 2024, at the World Leaders' Summit on Climate Action, which is taking place as part of the 29th Conference.
