Askat Khasenov, the Chairman of the Board of JSC NC "KazMunayGas," met with Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu in Bucharest.
Глава КМГ встретился с премьер-министром Румынии для обсуждения возможностей сотрудничества в области энергетики.

The parties confirmed the significance of strengthening economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Romania, taking into account the activities of KMG's subsidiary in Romania – KMG International N.V. (Rompetrol). KMGI ranks among the top five taxpayers and is also one of the largest employers.

Overall, despite the current challenges in the international energy market, Kazakhstan remains a reliable partner and a key producer of petroleum products in Romania, contributing to energy security.

"Romania is our most important partner in the European Union, as evidenced by significant oil supplies and the role of KMG in the country's processing industry. Over the years, the oil refining capacity has been increased to 5.5 million tons per year. The refinery is one of the most modern in the region, achieving a yield of light petroleum products at 88%," noted A. Khasenov.

Aspects of the investment climate and the assurance of reliable and sustainable operations of KazMunayGas assets in Romania were discussed.

On the same day, the head of KMG met with Romania's Minister of Energy, Sebastian Burduja. The parties considered the prospects for further cooperation in the oil and gas sector.
