According to Akorda's report on January 8, Elimanov also informed the president that the implementation of the Comprehensive Plan to combat the shadow economy for 2023-2025 has resulted in a 1.3% reduction in its level:
- As a result of the Agency's activities, investigations into 1,312 criminal cases have been completed, with damages recovered amounting to 236.8 billion tenge;
- Criminal proceeds amounting to 152.3 billion tenge have been confiscated;
- 20 pre-trial investigations have been initiated against organized criminal groups and 1 against a transnational group;
- 42 financial pyramids have been dismantled;
- Approximately 15,000 websites and accounts promoting fraudulent schemes have been blocked;
- 327 chats in messengers have been closed, preventing financial losses for more than 2 million citizens;
- The activities of 41 online gambling platforms on social networks, 30 gaming halls, underground casinos, and a bookmaker have been exposed;
- Access to 11,700 online casino websites has been shut down;
- Unjustified budget expenditures of 120 billion tenge have been prevented;
- Attempts to legalize criminal proceeds through 36 illegal cryptocurrency exchanges have been thwarted.
He also reported that as a result of a special operation involving financial intelligence agencies from Kazakhstan, Belarus, and Russia, three large-scale "drug shops" were closed and 35 drug dealers were detained:
- The activities of 1,787 legal entities engaged in fictitious financial transactions and deals have been interrupted and identified;
- 1.2 thousand attempts to transfer funds to accounts of terrorist and extremist organizations have been blocked.
Following the meeting, the head of state issued a number of instructions concerning key areas of the Agency's activities.
Earlier, Tokayev met with the first deputy head of the presidential administration. This position has been held since January 6 by the former akim of the Turkestan region, Darkhan Satybaldy.
Additionally, today the president listened to a report from Marat Omarov, the chairman of the Agency for Protection and Development of Competition, regarding the implementation of the agency's control functions, including the results of anti-monopoly measures taken in 2024.
