Ermek Kosherbaev has been relieved of his position as the Akim of VKO and appointed as the Deputy Prime Minister.

A new Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan has been appointed. Ermek Kosherbaev has taken on this role.

The relevant document was signed by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on February 14, 2025:

"By the decree of the head of state, Ermek Kosherbaev has been appointed Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and he is relieved of his previous position."

Since June 16, 2023, Ermek Kosherbaev has served as the akim of the East Kazakhstan region.

Previously, the position of Deputy Prime Minister was held by Tamara Duysenova, who was appointed as the President's assistant by Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's decree.
