In welcoming the guest, the head of Kazakhstan highly appreciated the visit, emphasizing its exceptional importance in the context of developing bilateral relations.

"You are visiting Kazakhstan for the first time as the President of Guinea-Bissau. This is a historic visit. I am convinced that today's high-level negotiations will open a new stage of cooperation between our countries." Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev

Furthermore, Tokayev noted that 2023 marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Guinea-Bissau.

According to him, this historic milestone lays a solid foundation for further deepening mutually beneficial partnership.

"Over these years, we have managed to build relationships based on mutual respect, support, and strong friendship. We are confident that there is significant potential for developing cooperation in various fields, especially in the economy and trade. For his part, Umaro Sissoco Embalo expressed gratitude to Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev and the people of Kazakhstan for the warm welcome:

"My visit to your country today is a reflection of our shared desire to strengthen friendly ties and cooperation between Bissau and Astana."

Additionally, the President of Guinea-Bissau emphasized that our countries successfully interact within multilateral frameworks. He supported the position of our head of state regarding the reform of the UN and other international organizations.

The parties discussed a wide range of cooperation issues in promising areas such as agriculture, transport and logistics, the mining and metallurgy complex, finance, digitalization, and telecommunications technologies.

Earlier, a ceremonial meeting took place at Akorda to welcome Umaro Sissoco Embalo, who arrived in Kazakhstan on an official visit.
