A group of men became trapped in snowdrifts near the village of Karasu, close to Lake Koibagar. The strong winds and low temperatures worsened the situation, posing a real threat to the lives of the Kazakhstan residents.
"Upon receiving a distress signal, the duty shift of rescuers promptly headed to the scene. Using specialized equipment, the vehicle was successfully retrieved from the snowdrift and the fishermen were transported to safety. They did not require medical assistance," the regional emergency services press office reported.
On December 16, 2024, in the Mangistau region, employees of Kazakhstan's emergency services conducted a rescue operation, freeing 29 trucks that had become stuck in a snowdrift on the Zhanaozen – Turkmenistan highway.
