Initially, information about a pack of stray dogs, which many residents of Karaganda believe poses a significant threat, emerged on October 27. The unfortunate area of the city on Kotsyubinsky Street near the clinic located in the Mikhailovka microdistrict was labeled a den of stray dogs.
Residents of the microdistrict noted that the barking of one dog is picked up by all the others. This results in a cacophony that disrupts the peace of many residents. However, they pose a greater danger in the evening for schoolchildren in the second shift and adults returning from work.
On October 28, feedback was received from a veterinary organization.
"The appeal has been registered for appropriate measures to be taken. Stray dogs that exhibit no aggressive behavior and do not pose a danger will be released back after vaccination and sterilization," the message stated.
However, on December 21, residents of the same street once again reached out to the administration of the Instagram portal "Evening Karaganda." They referred to the veterinary department’s message about the capture of stray dogs on Kotsyubinsky Street as a mere formality.
"No one came. There was no capture, and the dogs continue to breed," the residents of Karaganda stated in their appeal.
They backed up their claims with a recent video.
As has become customary, commentators once again divided into two camps. Some argue that capturing dogs is inhumane, while others are concerned about the safety of passersby.
A similar situation has arisen in Ust-Kamenogorsk, where a pack of stray dogs keeps an entire microdistrict in fear.
