A resident of Astana was arrested for 15 days for a prank involving a toy gun.

A resident of Astana, who pulled a prank in the elevator of one of the capital's buildings, has been sentenced to 15 days in jail.
Жителя Астаны задержали на 15 суток за пранк с игрушечным пистолетом.

The case was heard on February 2, 2025, at the Specialized Interdistrict Court for Administrative Offenses in Astana.

"The circumstances of the case indicate that on January 29, G. initiated a conflict while in an elevator with the intent of posting a video on his blog, directing an object resembling a gun (the court session established that the object was a toy gun) towards individuals in the elevator while filming their reactions," the court's press service reported.

The resident of Astana explained that he intended to post the video on social media for entertainment purposes. During the hearing, he did not admit guilt and also denied that his actions showed disrespect to those around him and disrupted public order.

The court found the capital resident guilty of committing an offense under Part 1 of Article 434 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan, "Petty Hooliganism," and imposed a punishment of administrative arrest for 15 days.

The ruling has not yet come into legal force.

Previously, it was reported that the police detained young individuals who, under the guise of a "prank," grossly violated public order in Astana. In the elevators of residential buildings, they staged a conflict accompanied by the display of an object resembling a weapon, which frightened unsuspecting witnesses.
