A fatal traffic accident occurred on the 102 km of the Almaty – Bishkek highway.
"According to preliminary data, the driver of a Chevrolet Cobalt crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a Hyundai Elantra. As a result of the accident, both drivers and a passenger of the Hyundai Elantra died at the scene. Another passenger of the Chevrolet Cobalt was hospitalized with various injuries," the statement released on Tuesday said.
An investigation has been launched and a criminal case registered regarding the incident.
The police of the Almaty region urge drivers to strictly adhere to traffic rules, not to exceed speed limits, and to remain extremely vigilant on the roads.
On February 3, 2025, on the road in the VKO, the driver and three passengers of a Lada Granta were killed. The deadly accident occurred on the Kurchum – Kalzhyr highway.
