Two citizens of Kazakhstan have been detained for the production of psychotropic substances and taken into custody with the court's sanction.
"During the search, approximately two kilograms of the ready-made psychotropic substance 'mefedrone', as well as laboratory equipment and precursors for drug production, were seized," the press service of the National Security Committee reported.
A pre-trial investigation is underway for the crime stipulated in part 3 of Article 297 of the Criminal Code of Kazakhstan, which addresses "Illegal production, processing, acquisition, storage, transportation for the purpose of sale, sending, or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, or their analogs."
It was previously reported that a resident of Kokshetau was fined for not turning in discovered drugs. According to the criminal case materials, in July, the city dweller found a bag containing 40 ampoules of "Tramadol" and decided to keep them for personal use.
