According to the Telegram channel of the online publication Atyrau ONLINE, an English teacher at secondary school No. 37 in Atyrau attempted suicide after being insulted during a teachers' meeting. Allegedly, during the session, a Kazakh language teacher accused the English teacher of fraud.
"I was humiliated during the teachers' meeting. Previously, the principal said that I have 'very long arms.' It was so offensive that I saw no other way out," the English teacher is quoted as saying by the publication.
As reported by the media, following the suicide attempt, the educator was taken to the regional hospital.
In the Atyrau region's Health Department, a correspondent from Zakon.kz was informed:
"The patient sought help, was examined, but she signed a refusal of treatment and went home. Her condition was assessed as moderate."
The Atyrau Region Police Department also commented on the situation.
"The fact reported on social media regarding a suicide attempt using medication by a female born in 1985 has been registered. Comprehensive verification activities are currently underway." Atyrau Region Police Department
The Atyrau Region Education Department explained the incident as follows:
"A special commission has been established within the Atyrau city education department to investigate the situation. Necessary checks will be conducted, and all circumstances will be thoroughly clarified. Should any violations of the law be discovered, appropriate measures will be taken in accordance with the law."
Earlier, it was reported that in the Akmolinsk region, a grandson beat his 77-year-old grandmother. The press service of the regional police department stated that a complaint from the injured woman was received on January 8, 2025, and now the 30-year-old man faces criminal liability.
