According to the akim of East Kazakhstan Region, Yerbek Kosherbayev, who arrived at the site of the incident, the repair work was being conducted as planned on the section of the coal supply belt conveyor.
"As a result of this incident, six people were injured, and they are currently in the hospital with stable conditions," the regional head reported.
Kosherbayev emphasized that the incident did not affect the operation of the heating plant, which continues to function normally. All components of the heating facility are in order, and the boilers are providing heat.
"The temperature in residents' homes remains within normal limits. The outdoor temperature in Ridder is -4 degrees. Specialists from JSC 'Shyghys Zhylu' are conducting checks and adjustments to the heating supply system, which may result in a temporary slight drop in pressure in the network," the city akimat warned.
Earlier, the akim of East Kazakhstan Region, Yerbek Kosherbayev, discussed how the construction of the heating plant in Ust-Kamenogorsk would impact the city's ecology and explained why a heating plant, rather than a hydroelectric power station, is being built in the regional center.
