The illegal activities of a criminal group have been dismantled by the Organized Crime Control Department of the Karaganda region, with the assistance of prosecutors.
"An investigation is underway regarding 18 episodes of extortion, robbery, fraud, and illegal possession of weapons. The total damage inflicted on the victims in these criminal cases exceeds 26 million tenge," said Kuan-dyk Alpyss, a representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Organized Crime Control Department.
During the searches, several units of firearms and cold weapons, as well as a large quantity of ammunition, were seized from the suspects.
All members of the criminal group have been arrested and placed in temporary detention facilities. They are being checked for involvement in other similar incidents.
