On June 9, 2023, at the "Karaturun South" field, a gas-water mixture was released during drilling, leading to a fire. It took nearly six months to eliminate the emergency.
"The specified amount will be paid in installments, as agreed upon by the subsoil user with the Ministry of Energy," the statement noted.
According to the Prosecutor's Office of the Mangistau Region, the first payment of 270 million tenge was made on December 17, 2024.
Previously, LLP 'BuzachiNeft' had already paid a fine of 362 million tenge for violating environmental regulations related to the accident, which was imposed following the submission of the same prosecutor's office.
On June 9, 2023, at 3:25 AM, at the "Karaturun South" oil and gas field, LLP 'Buzachi Neft' experienced a blowout of gas-water mixture while drilling well #303 in the Southern area, resulting from the lifting of drilling equipment at a depth of 1088-1090 m, which transitioned into an open gas fountain. According to the Emergency Situations Department of the Mangistau region, the height of the flame reached 10 m.
Later, 'Buzachi Neft' commented on the significant methane leak in Kazakhstan.
