In early December 2024, they obtained citizenship of a foreign country but failed to notify the migration service of Kazakhstan within the prescribed timeframe.
The violation was discovered when, two months later, they approached the Citizens' Service Center (CСN) to withdraw their pension savings. The court found them guilty of violating Kazakhstan's citizenship legislation.
As a result, the mother will pay a fine of 200 MRP (612,600 tenge), while her daughter will face administrative deportation from the country.
According to police, in January 2025 alone, seven individuals with dual citizenship were identified in the region. Law enforcement agencies remind that citizens who obtain a passport from another country are required to notify the migration service within 30 days and submit documents confirming their previous citizenship.
