As reported by the press service of the Almaty region's Emergency Situations Department, on January 14, 2025, at 15:44, a notification was received regarding a fire in a warehouse for storing construction materials on Aksarov Street.
"Upon arrival at the scene at 15:49, it was determined that there was a fire inside the warehouse for construction materials. The area of the fire is being assessed. The warehouse measures 22x38 meters, with an approximate area of 836 square meters," – the statement reads.
It is noted that 48 personnel and 18 units of equipment from the Emergency Situations Department participated in extinguishing the fire, along with eight personnel and two units of equipment from the Almaty Emergency Situations Department, as well as two units of equipment from local executive authorities.
"To determine the cause of the fire, a research fire testing laboratory and the investigative department of the Almaty region's Emergency Situations Department are working at the scene. The fire was extinguished over an area of 500 square meters at 18:23," – concluded the Emergency Situations Department.
It was previously reported that the warehouse is located in the "Zher Ana" market. An operational fire extinguishing headquarters has been established at the site.
