Such a cargo was discovered by law enforcement in an Audi A6, driven by a 38-year-old resident of the Zhambyl region. His peer, a fellow traveler from the same area, was also in the vehicle.
"During the inspection of the car, 13 bags containing a plant-based substance were found and seized from the back seat and the trunk. According to the expert conclusion, the contents turned out to be dried marijuana weighing over 266 kilograms in total," – reported the press service of the regional police department.
An investigation has been launched regarding this incident. The suspects are currently under arrest.
Since the beginning of the year, 446 kilograms of various prohibited substances have been seized from illegal circulation in the Karaganda region, including over 100 kilograms of hashish, more than 180 kilograms of marijuana, and 12 kilograms of synthetic drugs.
Previously, a drug lab was dismantled in the Zhetysu region, where synthetic substances were produced. During the investigation, over 6.4 kg of mephedrone was seized.
