The earthquake was recorded by Kazakhstani seismologists, as reported by Tengrinews.kz.
This information was disseminated by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the republic.
"On February 15, 2025, at 06:52 Astana time, an earthquake was registered by the seismic station network of the LLP 'NNCSNI' of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan," the agency's statement says.
The epicenter of the underground tremors is located in Russia, 1225 kilometers northeast of Almaty.

No information regarding casualties or damages has been reported, the ministry added.
Later, the Ministry of Emergency Situations announced that specialists from "Kazselozashchita" conducted monitoring of riverbeds, hydraulic structures, landslide and flood-prone areas. Additionally, a visual inspection of life support facilities was carried out to check for possible damages.
"According to the inspection results, no damages were found, and currently, the mentioned facilities are operating normally," the statement clarifies.
The situation is stable, the agency added.
Recall that on February 1, seismic stations recorded an earthquake near Almaty, with its epicenter located in China, 270 kilometers southeast of the city.
