On January 17 at 22:08 Astana time, seismologists recorded an earthquake in Kazakhstan, reports Tengrinews.kz citing the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located 220 kilometers northeast of the city of Almaty.
In the Zhetysu region, in the city of Zharkent (Panfilov district), the earthquake was felt at a magnitude of 2. In the Almaty region, in the village of Chundja (Uigur district), it was also rated at 2.
There have been no reports of casualties or damage to the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
