Japan has approved the introduction of additional sanctions against Russia in connection with the war in Ukraine. The Japanese restrictions also affected one organization from Kazakhstan, as reported by Tengrinews.kz, citing Nikkei.

This was announced during a cabinet meeting in Japan. The list of goods banned for export has been expanded to include 335 items, including parts for crane engines and other specialized equipment, as well as small motorcycles, which could enhance Russia's industrial capabilities.

Chemicals, such as capsaicin, which could be used in the development of chemical weapons, are also included in the ban.

The export ban on these goods will take effect on January 23.

The government decision also includes a ban on exports to 31 organizations from six countries suspected of assisting Russia in evading sanctions. These groups are located in Kazakhstan, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), China, Kyrgyzstan, Thailand, and Turkey.

The report does not specify the names of the organizations that have been sanctioned. In this regard, we have sent a request to the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Construction of Kazakhstan for further information.

Additionally, the list of frozen assets includes 11 individuals, 29 organizations, and 3 banks from Russia. The asset freeze will also affect one non-Russian individual and one bank.

The Chief Secretary of the Japanese Cabinet, Yoshimasa Hayashi, stated at a press conference that Japan will continue to contribute to international efforts to resolve the situation surrounding Ukraine, collaborating with the international community, including the G7 countries.

It is worth noting that earlier, Kazakh companies were subjected to sanctions by the United Kingdom.
