A married couple, parents of a three-year-old child who was hospitalized at the Akmolinsk Children's Hospital in Kokshetau, attacked the medical staff of the facility, reports Tengrinews.kz citing Nayza Kokshe.

The incident occurred on Saturday in the hospital's intensive care unit, according to the publication.

It is explained that around 4:00 PM, a bleeding boy was urgently brought to the hospital. According to the parents, a bedside table had fallen on him. How it all happened remains unclear, but three fingers on his left hand were crushed and were hanging with the nail plate on a flap of skin.

"According to the parents, the child's three fingers were pinched by a falling console. There was found to be crush injuries to the fingers with a lack of skin. Technically, it was nearly impossible to restore the almost amputated fingers. To prevent gangrene, the decision was made to amputate the crushed tips of three fingers," - quotes the public the traumatologist Meyram Dyusekeev.

He clarified that the parents were informed, but they did not heed the doctors' words, turned over the keyboard, and scattered papers on the doctor's desk.

For the emergency operation, the medical staff called anesthesiologist Yelaman Tajenov, Dyusekeev continued. He recounted that on the stairs, the anesthesiologist encountered an angry parent who began to insult and curse. Attempts to explain to the man that the doctor was rushing for a consultation were futile.

Meanwhile, as noted by Tajenov, the parents gave their consent for the use of anesthesia, after which the doctors operated on the child. After the operation, the anesthesiologist invited the couple and wanted to explain how to care for the child post-anesthesia, but the conversation did not go well.

"They barged into the intensive care unit twice; of course, upon seeing them, the boy cried. This incident did not end there. The couple cursed, yelled, broke the door to the intensive care unit, and shoved the nurses. The woman lunged at me, hitting me with her hands," - he reported.

All of this occurred in the presence of a district inspector who was unable to calm them down. Ultimately, the doctors had to call the police for assistance.

"The furious parents staged a violent confrontation with the medical staff, grabbing them by the neck and wrestling. The woman screamed hysterically throughout the intensive care unit, frightening the children. The troublemakers were pushed into the hallway, but they rushed back into the department," - the publication states.

It is reported that the doctors transferred the boy to a ward and filed a report with the police.

Earlier, the Minister of Health Akmaral Alnazharova shared plans to ensure the safety of emergency medical service staff. Read more details in the article.

It should be noted that incidents of attacks on emergency medical staff have increased in Kazakhstan. In December, in Kostanay, relatives of a sick woman assaulted a paramedic who had arrived on a call.

In September, a troublemaker attacked paramedics and injured a police officer in Mangistau.

Two cases of attacks on medical workers also occurred in the Akmolinsk region.

A resident of Kostanay was attacked with a knife and a toy gun after deciding to take revenge on a doctor.
