В Казахстане увеличат пенсии, зарплаты работников бюджетной сферы и адресную социальную помощь (АСП).

In Kazakhstan, pension amounts, salaries for public sector employees, as well as targeted social assistance (TSA) and housing assistance will increase. This was announced during the Taldau Talks podcast by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy, Serik Jumangarin, as reported by Tengrinews.kz.

The podcast episode focused on tax reform: the increase in VAT and its impact on the budget and inflation in Kazakhstan.

"By law, we are required to adjust pensions, salaries for public sector workers, teachers, doctors, and others according to the inflation rate. We are doing this. At a rate of 20 percent, this amounted to 800 billion tenge. With a rate of 16 percent, it will be around 500-550 billion. We will increase the TSA as well. Currently, it stands at 40-45 billion for 200,000 people. What remains? We still have housing assistance, which we will undoubtedly increase and compensate for due to the rising tariffs," - stated Jumangarin.

Previously, the issue of raising salaries and benefits for Kazakhs due to the VAT increase was commented on by Deputy Prime Minister Tamara Duisenova.

Recall that on February 20, amendments to the Tax Code were submitted to Parliament.

"Amendments have been made regarding:

  • lowering the threshold for mandatory VAT registration from 20,000 MRP (78.6 million tenge) to 3,800 MRP (15 million tenge);
  • increasing the VAT rate from 12 percent to 16 percent, with a reduced rate of 10 percent for certain sectors;
  • applying the simplified tax regime (STR) for the B2C segment only," - reported the Ministry of National Economy.
