В Актюбинской области произошло убийство школьника, и подозреваемому неожиданно изменили обвинение.

The relatives of a 14-year-old schoolboy who was brutally killed in the village of Kopa, Aktobe, are dissatisfied with the progress of the investigation, reports Tengrinews.kz, citing KTK.

Nurzhan Sydyk passed away in his native village right after the school assembly on September 2. He was beaten by other students and left to die behind an abandoned bathhouse. All materials for the case have essentially been gathered, and the trial is expected to start soon. However, the boy's family unexpectedly learned that the charge against the suspects had been changed.

"We found out recently that the charge was changed back to Article 106, Part 3. The prosecutor in Aktobe signed an order for the reclassification of the article on his last working day, January 9. He removed the charge of 'Murder' from this case. We do not agree with this. We are all very anxious that we may not have enough time to reclassify the case before it goes to court," said the sister of the slain schoolboy, Aizhan Sydykova.

The tragedy in the village of Kopa, located in the Temir district, occurred in the fall of 2024. The schoolboy was brutally beaten by students from the 10th and 11th grades and was then left to die. Six individuals have been detained in connection with the case, although the deceased's relatives claim that there were 18 high school students present that night.

The victims fear that those responsible will not face appropriate punishment. The family has had to reach out to journalists several times to bring attention to the case. Following this, they managed to achieve a reclassification of the charge to a more serious one.

However, recently when the relatives were provided with the case materials for review, the victims unexpectedly discovered that the suspects were still going to be tried under the original charge chosen by the police. The investigator concluded that the schoolboy was killed accidentally. The motive for the attack has not yet been disclosed by the police.

"A procedural decision has been made to reclassify the criminal case from Article 99, Part 2 'Murder' to Article 106, Part 3 'Causing serious harm to health resulting in death.' Currently, the criminal case is concluded, and the review is taking place. After the review, the criminal case will be sent to court," stated the head of the press service of the Aktobe region police department, Yerbolat Sarkulov.
