The head of state congratulated the President of Bulgaria on Liberation Day, reports Tengrinews.kz.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a congratulatory telegram to Bulgarian President Rumen Radev on the occasion of the country's national holiday.
In his message, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed confidence in the continued strengthening of bilateral relations based on traditional friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation.
"Kassym-Jomart Tokayev wished Rumen Radev success in his responsible state activities, and to the friendly people of Bulgaria – prosperity and well-being," notes the press service of Akorda.
Bulgaria's Liberation Day is celebrated on March 3 in honor of the signing of the Treaty of San Stefano in 1878, which marked the end of Ottoman rule. On this day, solemn ceremonies, military parades, and wreath-laying take place, especially at Shipka Pass, where key battles were fought. The President of the country addresses the nation, and historical programs are broadcast in the media. The holiday symbolizes the revival of Bulgarian statehood and is one of the main national days of the country.
