In Magdeburg, at least 11 people have died and between 60 to 80 have been injured as a result of a terrorist attack, according to Tengrinews.kz citing BILD.
A representative of the Magdeburg police stated that it is still unclear whether the perpetrator acted alone. They traveled "at least 400 meters through the Christmas market," the police reported.

The driver of the vehicle that struck people at the market is believed to be a Saudi national born in 1974, according to Die Welt citing intelligence sources.
According to Die Welt, the man rented the vehicle and then drove it to the Christmas market, where a piece of luggage was found in the passenger seat. Authorities do not rule out the possibility that an explosive device could have been inside, the publication notes.
The suspect is currently in police custody.
It should be noted that the vehicle drove into a crowd at the Christmas market in the German city of Magdeburg. Authorities have classified this incident as a terrorist attack.
